What this page covers

GlideEDU is a free study tool for ServiceNow certification exams. This page explains exactly what we collect when you visit the site, why, and what we deliberately don't collect.

Traffic analytics

To understand how many people use GlideEDU, where they come from, and to tell apart distinct visits from repeat page loads, every page load sends a small beacon that includes:

  • A random ID generated by your browser and stored in localStorage (e.g. 3f9a1c2e-...) — not tied to your name, email, or account. It lets us tell "5 different visits" apart from "1 visitor who reloaded 5 times."
  • A composite device fingerprint — a hash derived from your browser/OS, screen size and color depth, timezone, language, hardware info, and a canvas rendering test. This helps us recognize the same physical device even if the ID above is cleared or a private/incognito window is used.
  • Your IP address, and the full User-Agent string your browser sends (e.g. exact browser and OS version).
  • The page path you visited (e.g. /), and the domain that referred you here (e.g. "google.com" or "reddit.com"), if any — never the full referring URL, which can sometimes contain search terms.
  • Your approximate city, region, and country, derived by our hosting provider's network at the edge.

This data is used only for our own internal analytics (understanding traffic to this site) and is visible only to the site administrator. It is retained for 90 days.

What we don't do

  • No cross-site tracking and no third-party ad or analytics trackers — everything above is collected and stored by GlideEDU itself, not a third party.
  • No selling or sharing of any data with third parties.
  • The visitor ID and fingerprint are used only to be counted — they aren't linked to anything you type, answer, or submit in the app.

If you create an account

Signing in is optional and only used to save your quiz history, XP, and leaderboard position across devices. That data is tied to your account, not to the anonymous visitor ID described above, and is never sold or shared.

Feedback reports

If you report a problem with a question, the report (question text, your note, and category) is stored so we can fix it. It isn't linked to your identity unless you're signed in and choose to include that context.

Opting out

Clearing your browser's site data for GlideEDU removes the stored visitor ID. Note that the device fingerprint and IP address described above are derived from your browser/network rather than stored on your device, so they aren't affected by clearing site data or using a private/incognito window — a different browser or network connection is the only way to present as a different device.
